DDA Step & Stanza Meeting
- Level 3
Profile
Hi Everybody
Just posting some information regards the Sat 11.00 am DDA zoom meeting.
I normally speak the words that I’m about to write prior to each Sat morning meeting, but it was thought it might be a good idea to post the same information here so that people who read the post are equally aware.
The Saturday morning Zoom meeting of DDA is of a slightly different format to other DDA meetings as we attempt to focus on the DDA 12 Steps + 5 in our meeting (as opposed to, an open share meeting).
In the Sat morning meeting, we first looked at and then broke down into its separate stanzas, the Just For Today reading.
We looked at what is said within, and we shared how we interpreted the stanza.
We next began an exploratory look at the Twelve Steps Plus Five steps.
I hasten to say this is not working the steps, but it is more an attempt to examine and to understand them.
When many of us come to the fellowship, we have little understanding of what the steps are all about.
We align ourselves with others on the same journey, but we have little knowledge of the steps or the path they lead to.
Sat morning aims to give us some understanding of the 12 + 5 step programme.
What are the 12 steps all about, and all important for DDA’ers.
What are the additional five?
Something that I say each Sat morning is that having a focus for our Sat morning meeting is hugely important. Still, at the end of the day, this is a DDA meeting. If any person present wishes to share something current and relaxant in/to their recovery that is outside of our intended focus and is not associated with the step.
THIS TAKES PRECEDENCE.
Despite our intention to have a focus for Sat morning, we are nevertheless – DDA.
I hope you join us 🙏🏻
Alan Butler DDA.
