Advocacy
Thurrock Advocacy Service is for people with a learning disability, mental health problem, sensory impairment, acquired brain injury, dementia, drug and alcohol problems, substantial difficulty understanding, remembering or using information, and carers of the above client groups.
Advocacy is about making sure that a person has as much control as possible over their life. Advocates help people to find a voice and give them the support and assistance to make sure their voice is heard
We combine advocacy with active support such as help filling out forms, making phone calls and signposting to additional services and opportunities.
