About Mind in Harrogate District

Mind in Harrogate District is an independent charity founded in 1973 and is affiliated with National Mind and the Mind federation.

There are more than 120 Local Mind Associations (LMAs) across England and Wales. Each local Mind association is an independent charity run by local people for local people. Each is responsible for its own funding and the services it provides, but all are affiliated to Mind. This affiliation ensures that each local organisation meets Mind’s quality standards of governance and service delivery and that they work to further the shared mission.

Mind in Harrogate District works with other local Mind associations throughout Yorkshire and the Humber, as well as those further afield, to ensure we are delivering the best service possible.

Services

We offer a number of support services, including those listed below, to anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.

Support Services

Befriending

We offer a befriending service for people across the Harrogate district, matching volunteer befrienders with people who would benefit from community-based support and developing social relationships.

Counselling

We provide a confidential, professional counselling service accredited by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Outreach

We provide a mental health hub in key market towns across the Harrogate District. The outreach service provides local access to mental health support, information, advice and training opportunities.

Telephone Support

We offer a telephone support service each weekday where you can speak to a member of our team. We are here to answer the phone to anyone who may be struggling with their mental health.
