#BeNiceToYourNoggin
Havering Mind is delighted to be partnering with Havering Council through a new campaign in 2021 to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
The coronavirus pandemic has been incredibly tough for us all, and it has had a huge impact on our mental health. From lockdown to furlough, to the loss of loved ones, we’ve all found ourselves under pressure or anxious at times.
The pandemic has affected us all in different ways, and it is only normal to feel uncertain about what the future holds.
The stress of this uncertainty and the new challenges we have had to face has had an impact on the mental health of many.
With limited contact with our friends, family, community and colleagues, taking care of our mental health and wellbeing has never been more important.
Support is available to help cope with the thoughts, feelings and issues that we are all facing.
#BeNicetoYourNoggin aims to spread awareness of the support is available in our community and how to access it, including a wide range of bereavement and crisis support services available in Havering.
Havering Mind CEO Sarah Balser said “Mental health illnesses affect many people, with one in six saying they have experienced anxiety or depression in any given week. That’s why we are encouraging everyone to #BeNicetoYourNoggin and to get in touch with us at Havering Mind if there is something that is worrying you or someone you know.
Poor mental health can be long-lasting and more impactful than other health conditions, because it impacts on people and their families, in lost jobs and income, lower self-esteem and educational attainment, and quality of life. So looking after our mental health is as important as looking after our physical health. ”
The ‘noggins’ are here to help us express some of the mental health issues we all face, which can often feel dark and unmanageable. They are here to make these issues easier to understand and to let you know that you are not alone in tackling them.
Telephone 01708 457040 to talk to a Team Member at Havering Mind.
We are here for you seven days a week, evenings and weekends.

Live A Better Life
The aim of the programme is to help and support anyone over the age of 18 from the London Boroughs of Havering or Barking and Dagenham with a mental health issue to come together to enjoy social, healthy and sporting activities. These activities will improve physical health and mental wellbeing, thereby reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, as well as developing coping skills for mental health.
This will be done through various physical and group activities where participants can build confidence, combat isolation and enable the formation of ‘Get Out’ Peer Networks to strengthen connections with the wider community.
What will this Service provide?
- A 12-week health and wellbeing programme
- Physical and sporting activities
- Health workshops
- Meet and greet sessions
- Walks
- Emotional Wellbeing workshops
