Profile
Bedford Wellbeing Centre
Update: Mind BLMK are pleased to announce a gradual re-opening of our face-to-face services from 17 May in line with the Governments own road map to re-opening. Our Crisis Cafes services are now open in all locations, offering crisis support seven nights per week, and the Luton Wellbeing centre will follow on Monday 17 May.
All our services have been carefully risk assessed in line with current guidance, and we would like to assure you all that our services will offer a safe and secure environment in which to receive your support. Whilst we are keen to re-open all of our services as quickly as possible, many of our venues are not yet open or are operating reduced timetables, which means our pre-Covid-19 timetable is not possible at this time.
We are working hard to secure venues across all locations, and we are hopeful that throughout May, June, and July, many of our services will be available for face-to-face delivery. In the meantime, we will endeavour to keep you all supported, and if you have any concerns, please discuss this with your main point of contact at Mind BLMK, or alternatively, you can call us on 0300 330 0648.
We would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding and are very much looking forward to seeing you again in person.
Mind BLMK works from Bedford Wellbeing Centre, at 3 Woburn Road in Bedford, but supports people across the whole borough. Contact us on 0300 330 0648 or email us at bwc@mind-blmk.org.uk. If you’d like to see the full list of activities on offer, see below.
Our vision
To be a leading, independent, sustainable and highly effective organisation that is making a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of people in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
This statement is more about what we aspire to – we aim to meet this vision in all we do, so that we can best support local people.
Our mission
To promote and protect people with mental health problems and assist in the development of people with mental ill-health by provisions of support, advice and other services.
This mission is worded so that it meets the standards of the Charity Commission and gives a very broad overview of the overall aims of Mind BLMK.
Our values
Community – knowing and being an integral part of our localities
Respect – valuing everyone as an individual
Opportunity – having a range of options to choose from
Hope – knowing things will work out
Developing Potential – overcoming barriers to individual achievement
Raising Awareness – talking about mental health and wellbeing
Mind BLMK is an independent charity, but we are affiliated with Mind nationally. This means that we meet high-quality standards, have the benefits of the experiences and knowledge of a wide network of Mind associations but are able to work locally, to meet local needs.
